Aleksander Fredro is the Polish Moliére. His most famous works are mandatory study for all high school aged students in Poland. He wrote Maidens’ Vows, or the Magnetism of the Heart in 1833. It is a comedy of manners about the fate of two sisters in a country manor whose covenant never to marry goes comically awry.

The Cutting Ball Theater’s 2015-16 season is made possible in part by Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Fleishhacker Foundation, Grants for the Arts / San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, The Andrew W.
