Production and Facilities Manager
Position: Part-time, non-exempt employee position, paid hourly. Flexible schedule with an average of 20hrs of work per week throughout the year (up to 40hrs/week during tech). 10 months seasonal position over which Cutting Ball puts on three productions. This position can be combined with other part-time work. $19-$22K salary (DOE). Benefits include a $200 health insurance stipend.
General Duties: Production & Facilities Manager is a leadership position, charged with overseeing and managing all production aspects of Cutting Ball’s productions in the 2015-16 Season as well as RISK IS THIS…The Cutting Ball New Experimental Plays Festival and the Hidden Classics Reading Series.
Production Management:
-Scheduling and running of production and design meetings, set load-ins, builds, lighting hangs, technical rehearsals, previews, lead tech notes prior to the opening night of all productions and strike.
-Respond to various tech needs during rehearsals and maintain the production during the run.
-Anticipate potential problems and develop solutions in consultation with the team
-Facilitate the design process by putting designers and director in contact, checking in with them on a weekly basis and following up with each department to make sure design deadlines are being met.
-Production Budget Management
Facilities Management:
-Maintain the upkeep of the production facility, the EXIT on Taylor (277 Taylor), including maintenance and sourcing of equipment, review of fire codes and safety procedures, sound proofing, and addressing heating and cooling system needs.
-Manage the inventory and equipment inventory in the theater space.

Box Office Manager (Independent Contractor)
The Cutting Ball Theater is seeking a Box Office Manager for our 2015-16 season, starting end of August through June 30, 2016.
Box Office Manager is responsible for all phone, online and member reservations as well as for running the box office for all public performances, including will call and walk up sales. Preparation work can be done on your own schedule, but BOM must be present for all public performances. Please refer to the performance calendar below.
In addition to managing the box office during performances, BOM manages Front of House staff and deals with concessions, merchandise sales and inventory.
Box Office Manager uses and maintains Cutting Ball’s ticketing system and database “Patron Manager” to process payments and reservations, and set up all events, discount codes and other ticket offers as needed. Using “Patron Manager”, Box Office Manager sends out reports daily during production time. BOM must provide a personal laptop computer and cell phone to work from (take phone calls, return phone calls in a within 24hrs, answer emails etc.) and have regular access to the internet. The Box Office phone line is operated by Google Voice and is transferrable to any standard cell phone.
BOM assists Managing Director with audience development and reaching out to target groups for each mainstage production. BOM coordinates group attendance and logistics; sets up group discounts and follows up with group contacts after attendance.
BOM manages the season membership program, keeps records of member participation, contact information, and seating preferences, reserves member tickets for each production, and creates relationships with season members.
Requirements: Prospective candidates must have excellent customer service and experience interacting with theater patrons and donors in a professional setting. Previous experience working as a box office manager a plus. Knowledge of online ticketing systems and/or specifically with Patron Manager a plus. Background in theatre a plus. Must be responsible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Pay rate: $15/hour

Master Electrician
The Cutting Ball Theater is seeking an experienced Theater Master Electrician for productions in our upcoming 2015-16 season. Inquire for precise dates.
ME responsibilities:
-hang, focus and strike the lighting plot and perform basic electrics maintenance during the run of the show
-set up and trouble-shoot the Clear-Com headset system
-hang, cable and trouble shoot the two speakers in the theater (sound system)
-attend electric calls and implement electric notes

Light Board Operator/Electrics Intern
The Cutting Ball Theater is seeking a LBO/Electrics Intern for productions in their 2015-16 season. Inquire for precise dates.
Details of position:
LBO/Electrics Intern will attend all technical rehearsals (TBD) and will tend to minor lighting notes or issues that occur during the run. LBO will operate the light board during the final week or tech and all scheduled performances. LBO must have knowledge of theatrical lighting. Prior experience as a theater electrician is preferred.
Typical performance schedule: 5-week run – Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 8pm; Saturdays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 5pm.
